Those who can use the service:
Undergraduate students, and fellowship students.
Graduate students can live in one of the residences if there is space. If there is not, they are given an annual subsidy of € 4,800 to pay for lodging outside of the Scuola Normale.
Collegio Fermi. Located in via S. Apollonia, 29, it offers 46 single rooms with bathroom.
Collegio Timpano. Located in Lungarno Pacinotti, 51, it offers 110 single rooms with bathroom.
Collegio Carducci. Located in via Turati, 35, it offers 91 single rooms with bathroom.
Collegio Faedo. Located in via del Giardino, 3, it offers 83 single rooms with bathroom.
Scuola Normale students have access to a number of different services
Every residence has communal spaces (TV room, reading room), supplied daily with national and international newspapers as well as scholarly journals and general magazines.
Free breakfast is available in the Faedo and Carducci residences during the following hours:
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 8.00/9.45. Students living in the Fermi residence have access to breakfast in the D'Ancona residence.
Breakfast consists of:
Coffee, milk, tea or hot chocolate.
Bread, butter and jam or Nutella.
Fruit or fruit juice.
Each residence has a laundry service for washing and ironing clothing. All of the residences also have a laundry area with coin-operated washing machines, irons and ironing boards.
The students of the Scuola Normale are also provided with funding to use towards recreational and sports activities. These funds are used every year to stipulate agreements for the use of soccer fields, tennis courts, swimming pools, gyms, etc.
