YEAR OF ENROLLMENT
Angelo Vito Panaro is a Ph.D. Student in Political Science and Sociology at the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) in Florence. His main areas of research are political economy, public policy and welfare state with a focus on non-democratic regimes.
He is currently conducting research aimed at investigating how financial crash and fluctuations in commodity prices affect the policy-making process in non-democratic regimes. In his MA thesis, he investigates the impact of the 2014 oil plunge on the evolution of welfare state in Central Asian countries.
He obtained his BA in International and Diplomatic Affairs from the Università di Bologna - Forlì campus and his MA in Economics and Management of Public Administration from the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. While he was a master student, he worked as office assistant in the Trade Office of the Embassy of Italy in Moscow. In April 2016, he was invited as a speaker to the University of Bologna for a workshop on the role of local NGOs in determining domestic policy outcomes. His working languages are Italian, English, French and Russian.
